Learn more about Green Spaces for DC

OUR MISSION

Green Spaces for DC (GSDC) fosters stewardship and improves the quality of parks and open spaces through advocacy; development and strengthening organizational capacity; and establishing partnerships and networks that share information and resources.

OUR VALUES

Advancing park and green space improvements through facilitating implementation of the Capital Space Plan. Coordinating with Capital Space partners (e.g. DC Parks and Recreation, Office of Planning, Department of the Environment, Department of Transportation, National Capital Planning Commission, and National Park Service). Facilitating partnerships between public agencies and the community.

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP

As a fiscal sponsor, GSDC acts as an umbrella organization offering 501(c)(3) status to existing or new community groups, referred to as either projects or affiliates. Sponsorship allows these groups to solicit tax-deductible donations, host fundraisers and events, apply for and offer grants, and much more. We additionally provide certain financial and tax services, as well as insurance benefits, to sponsored groups. There are many benefits to fiscal sponsorship - please visit our Partnerships page for additional information for your group!
